Entrance Door - Wythenshawe Hall
A scanned and restored 35mm shot from c. 1980. It depicts the Entrance door at the Mediaeval Wythenshawe Hall, Manchester, England.
The Hall dates back to 1540 and played a small part in the English Civil War. It is now a museum and conference venue and along with the local parkland, is open to the public. The surrounding farmland was passed to the Manchester Council in the 1920’s and became one of the largest housing developments in Europe. I believe the door is the original and still there to view. Not bad for 460 odd years eh?
